Interior Plants

The benefits of professionally grown and managed interior plants are tangible and long lasting. The air quality and acoustics are improved as well as the visual presentation of your company. These factors combine to produce a relaxed, healthy working environment.

Specific studies demonstrate that plants like the Ficus benjamina and Pothos do a remarkable job of removing interior air pollutants such as Formaldehyde, Benzol, Phenols and Nicotine. These are released into the interior atmosphere from the building materials themselves and contribute to the phenomenon known as "Sick Building Syndrome".

Plants absorb pollutants through their leaves transforming 90% of them into sugars, new plant material and oxygen. Ficus, for example, absorb pollutants including nicotine and breaks them down, while the rapidly growing Pothos absorbs pollutants in its younger leaves. This combination of Ficus/Pothos can effectively neutralise many office pollutants. Expert analysis shows that the air quality within a 30m square room can be improved by 3 to 6 plants which act as natural pollution filters.

The positive influence on human beings of green and living plants improves both morale and productivity by actually increasing physical capabilities. It is well documented that bad, polluted air accelerates exhaustion, causes headaches, inability to concentrate, and muscle tension. These are all symptoms of 'Sick Building Syndrome', which can be alleviated by adding properly selected and well maintained live plants in the working and living environments.

It is very important for companies to recognise the direct correlation between plants in the workplace and increased productivity.

In conclusion, simply by adding a few carefully selected and maintained plants to your interior environment may be the simplest way to improve your health and allow you to feel better in your workplace and at home.
